AMPCC is a brain child of Arebaokeng Hospice which was providing home-based care when Department of Social Development (DSD) approached all the home-based care organizations to extend their home-based care activities to include care and support of orphans and vulnerable children. The orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) organizations are under the HIV/AIDS Directorate of Department of DSD because most orphans are the victims of HIV/Aids pandemic and some of these children are also HIV infected or affected. In the beginning AMPCC was a programme of Arebaokeng Hospice but Spar North Rand DC, our funder at that time, requested that we register AMPCC as a separate entity and be registered as a Non-profit Organization so that we do not use their funds for hospice activities. Spar North Rand gave AMPCC a structure because when they adopted us in 2004 we were visiting these children in their homes and we did not achieve much. With Spar on board we were able to rent a house and provided the services for all our beneficiaries under the same roof simultaneously. We were able to provide more activities,

The Mission of Arebaokeng MPCC is to provide an enabling environment which will promote and address the physical, emotional, psychological and social needs of orphans and vulnerable children in Tembisa.
